Rajib Kumar Mishra

Dr. Rajib Kumar Mishra is currently serving as Executive Director (Designate) at IRADe. With over four decades of experience in the Indian power sector, Dr. Mishra brings deep expertise across electricity markets, power system operations, transmission, and infrastructure development.

A PhD in Business Administration and a NORAD Fellow from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology,  Dr. Mishra combines technical acumen with strategic management expertise. He has previously served as the Chairman and Managing Director of PTC India Ltd., where he led the organization to record profitability and transformed it from a small-cap to a mid-cap enterprise
through strategic diversification. Under his leadership, PTC India successfully launched India’s third power exchange (HPX), expanded cross-border electricity trade with Bangladesh, and advanced renewable energy market integration in alignment with India’s clean energy transition goals. Dr. Mishra also brings academic distinction to his role, having served as at MDI Gurgaon, where he fostered synergy between industry and academia.

Dr. Mishra has been recognized as the “Power Trading & Power Markets Persona of the Decade (2018)” and has actively contributed to policy and industry forums through CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, and PHDCCI. His career exemplifies visionary leadership, policy insight, and academic rigor, making him one of India’s foremost voices in energy transition, market development, and sustainable
power sector reform.
