The study found that among various bio energy options in India, biodiesel, bio ethanol and biomass gasification are found to be most relevant areas, where investments for technology and marketing development could be made. Wastelands could be used for growing oil seed plants for producing biodiesel, irrigated land for sugarcane based ethanol production and small plots in village location be used for producing fuel wood for gasification.
