{"id":23244,"date":"2025-08-13T06:15:05","date_gmt":"2025-08-13T06:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lybclients.in\/irade\/?page_id=23244"},"modified":"2025-09-09T05:59:27","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T05:59:27","slug":"climate-adaptive","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lybclients.in\/irade\/climate-adaptive\/","title":{"rendered":"Climate Adaptive"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"23244\" class=\"elementor elementor-23244\" data-elementor-post-type=\"page\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bdbe330 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"bdbe330\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9528fe4 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"9528fe4\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6c7c07e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"6c7c07e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Climate Adaptive Action plans to manage Heat Stress in Indian cities\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-17e321d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"17e321d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The inter-disciplinary research aims to study the\u00a0<strong>extreme heat events\/ heat wave events<\/strong>\u00a0and improving the management of heat stress risks in India by developing spatially differentiated and gender sensitive\u00a0<strong>Heat Stress Action Plans (HSAPs) for Delhi, Bhubaneswar and Rajkot.<\/strong>\u00a0HSAPs developed through the initiative will serve to support India\u2019s medium term development planning especially in prioritizing and integrating adaptive resilience within the agenda of\u00a0<strong>climate resilient smart cities<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-75d9681 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"75d9681\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The objective of the project is to spatially identify the vulnerability of populations and\u00a0<strong>heat hot spots<\/strong>, and map the impacts of\u00a0<strong>extreme heat events<\/strong>\u00a0on the health, work productivity and livelihoods of vulnerable population, and recommending appropriate, innovative and affordable climate adaptation measures for improving health and livelihood resilience for the urban population, with consideration of the associated cost effectiveness as well as gender-based implications.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-26ee328 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"26ee328\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As a part of the project,\u00a0<strong>climatological variations<\/strong>\u00a0in summer months (March, April, May and June) in the three cities has been analysed using the parameters-\u00a0 Maximum Temperature (Tmax), Minimum Temperature (Tmin) and Relative Humidity. Land Surface Temperature (LST) maps and the ambient air temperature measured and analysed to develop<strong>Thermal Hotspot maps<\/strong>\u00a0for the three cities, along with Identification of\u00a0<strong>Ward- level vulnerability<\/strong>using the comprehensive index, comprising of nine sectors \u2013 Sanitation, Water, Electricity, Health, Transportation, Housing, Cooking, Awareness and Heat symptoms.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cfd04d3 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cfd04d3\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Heat Stress Advisory<\/strong>\u00a0for<strong>\u00a0New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)<\/strong>has been prepared in collaboration with the medical services department of New Delhi Municipal Corporation and distributed among Medical Services Department of NDMC for further dissemination along with measures inscribed on prescription slips of NDMC hospitals. IRADe with active collaboration with\u00a0<strong>Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC)<\/strong>\u00a0has actively implemented the Heat Stress Action Plan (HSAP) in the city, with display of Hoardings at public places, LED Screen displays, distribution of Posters and Pamphlets in local languages and issuing\u00a0<strong>early warnings<\/strong>\u00a0across the city.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1d7371e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"1d7371e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The project is being carried out along with the consortium members including;
